Okay, count me in as another who was completely taken in by your story. You’re a pretty good fiction writer, Paul! I was even saying a silent prayer of thanks that God directed your balloon to “crash land” in that spot and lead you to that poor little puppy, and asking for a blessing for you and your wife for your compassion. Even though it was fiction, the prayer request is still there! Take care, and thanks for the interesting story.

Wow, Paul! Thanks for getting me all emotional about the little mud-caked pup! LOL I was seriously tearing up, it was so precious. Very descriptive language. I was able to visualize most of your story as I’ve been in a hot air balloon (though it wouldn’t have held 7 people). I especially thought the part about sneaking him in to the motel, bathing him and checking out early seemed like something I would do under such circumstances. I was applauding you all the way for your heroics of rescuing the muddied little guy. All the while you had one over on me! Great job and I’d love to read more.
